Local implementation of the coronary heart disease national service framework

Joint Commission for Health Improvement (now the Healthcare Commission) and Audit Commission reviews of progress on implementing the coronary heart disease (CHD) NSF in England took place in 2003/04. Each review focused on a local population and the PCTs, hospitals, ambulance services and local authorities that serve them. The Healthcare Commission has continued with these local reviews. This programme of local reviews has now covered over half of the 26 communities planned across England. A national report on CHD in England will be published in 2005. These local CHD NSF reviews are absolutely must-reads for local sales teams operating in this therapy area to read and digest. Some superb information is available here.
